Investing in the Future of the Church: An OSUKirk Capital Campaign

OSUKirk, our shared, ecumenical, Presbyterian campus ministry at The Ohio State University, has launched a statewide capital campaign to raise $3 million to permanently fund the salary and benefits of our full-time campus minister.

For years, Presbyterian campus ministry at OSU waned due to the lack of time, resources, and a pastoral presence. But through our presbytery’s partnership with Jacob’s Porch and a three-year Church Development Fund grant, we now have a thriving, collaborative ministry reaching students at one of the largest universities in the country. This campaign will ensure that our campus minister can focus fully on relational ministry—not on fundraising for their own position.

Campus ministry is a vital investment in the next generation. In an age where there are concerns about the future, campus ministry is the critical segment in the development of the next generation of Presbyterians. A church without campus and young adult ministry is a church with no future.

Congregations can support OSUKirk through mission giving, by bringing a meal to Jacob’s Porch, or by hosting a conversation with OSUKirk’s board or campus minister.
