A Thanksgiving Prayer, You and me, Lord; how different we are…

Lord, we proclaim…

you welcome strangers, aliens, dine with evil company, attend to people crazed or ill.

We choose and are chosen by company “more like me.”

Yet when I’m a stranger welcomed;

or wrong and wounded and invited to lunch by a friend,

or harmed, beaten by life and mended by anyone;

your vast love and holiness become my song!
