Granville First Presbyterian Church…will be hosting environmentalist author and preacher, Dr. Matthew Sleeth. Dr. Sleeth, is the author of “Serve God, Save the Planet: A Christian Call to Action.” His most recent book, “Reforesting Faith: What Trees Teach Us About the Nature of God and His Love for Us,” was one of the top-500 best-selling books on Amazon. Dr. Sleeth will be preaching at the 8:30 and 11 am worship services on Sunday, November 24, at the First Presbyterian Church, 110 West Broadway. At 9:45 a.m. on Sunday at the church, parents are invited to meet with Dr. Sleeth to discuss the topic of his next book, which examines the power of the Bible’s message of love at a time when teen suicides are on the rise. Then, at 7 pm, he will preach at the community’s Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 East Broadway. In conjunction with Dr. Sleeth’s visit, First Presbyterian will offer “Treewhispers,” an interactive art open house from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, in the church’s Heritage Hall.
