Rev. Jeffrey A. Schooley, Stated Clerk

Jeff Schooley was born and raised in nearby Mansfield, Ohio and after graduating he enrolled in the Honor’s College at Kent State University studying journalism. While at KSU, Jeff grew in his discipleship and began to slowly sense a call to ministry. He switched his major to English and graduated cum laude in 2004.  Felling God’s calling to pastoral ministry, he enrolled at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (PTS) in 2006 after completing the MA in English at Kent State. While at PTS he earned both an M.Div. (2009) and Masters of Sacred Theology (2010). The latter degree helped him earn a fellowship at Duquesne University in their Ph.D. for Theology program where he is working on his dissertation.

While working on his PhD, he took a call at Center PC in Washington Presbytery, where he served from 2014-2017. He was delighted when God called him back home to Ohio in June 2017 to serve as the pastor of First Presbyterian Church to Marysville.

On a personal level, Jeff is married to his wife of over 12 years, Brianne.  Jeff is coming before his colleagues in the Presbytery of Scioto Valley with the hopes of using the gifts God has given him. He hopes to serve his colleague’s in their brilliance and compassion through his gift of administration.
