A lifelong Presbyterian, Emily grew up in Cambridge, Ohio. She has degrees from Denison University, Indiana University and Princeton Theological Seminary.

Since 2010, Emily has served Presbyterian Churches in Ohio and First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, Columbus. She has experience as a chaplain at Riverside Methodist Hospital and as the Neonatal Intensive Care Chaplain at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus.

Emily has served the Presbytery on the Committee on Preparation for Ministry and as Vice-Moderator and Moderator in 2022-2023. She is a trained facilitator for Healthy Congregations, Inc., and a facilitator in conflict mediation and conflict transformation from the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center. Emily was named Presbyter for Congregational Life and Transitions for the Presbytery of Scioto Valley in March.

Emily brings a connectional and collaborative focus to ministry with both clergy and congregational leaders throughout Scioto Valley. She is excited to support churches in the Presbytery of Scioto Valley and making connections to serve God’s mission throughout Central and Southern Ohio. She looks forward to supporting the work of the Commission for Ministry and Commission for Justice, Outreach and Education and other partners along the way. Emily will spend time engaging pastors and churches exploring shared ministry opportunities throughout the presbytery. She is interested in the ways churches can live into God’s future story for the communities and people they serve.

Emily, her husband, Jeff, their daughter, Camryn (10) and black labrador retriever, Molly, live in Dublin, Ohio.
