A book review and a presentation by the Bad Calvinists will highlight the Summer Gathering of Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery of Scioto Valley on Saturday, Aug. 24, at First Presbyterian Church in Washington Court House. You are encouraged to read Sabbath in the Suburbs by MaryAnn Mckibben Dana which tells of one family’s experiment with holy time. Read it and then come to the gathering and discuss it.
A special presentation will be done by the Bad Calvinists (the pastors from Washington Court House, Circleville and Chillicothe Presbyterians churches) as they discuss a scripture passage that will deal with the Ten Commandments. To get a flavor of what this will be like, search for, download and listen to their podcasts.
Also included in the day will be an overview of the 2019-2020 PW Bible Study, “Love Carved in Stone: A Fresh Look at the Ten Commandments” plus some spirituality workshops and worship with communion.
Mark your calendars now, find that book, listen to those podcasts and invite others to this exciting gathering in August. Register by contacting Nancy Schuster, [email protected]. Cost is $10 for the day.
