GA Statistical Information

DATE: January 22, 2024
TO: Clerks of Session and Pastors
FROM: Rev. Bill Gause, Stated Clerk
SUBJECT: 2023 General Assembly Statistical Report

Dear Clerks and Pastors,

I pray the new year finds you all well. I am writing to inform you that the General Assembly website for submitting your church’s statistical report is now open.

A link to the Office of General Assembly (OGA) Denominational Rolls and Statistics page can be found on the PSV website by hovering your mouse over the “Clerks Resources” tab and clicking on the “GA Statistical Information” link in the dropdown menu. You may enter the web address for the OGA website http://oga.pcusa.org/stats directly into your browser.

The deadline for entering your data this year is 5:00 PM, Thursday, February 15, 2024.

OGA has produced a worksheet which may be helpful as you begin the process of submitting your congregation’s data. This worksheet provides details on the information that each report is seeking and may be helpful to look over before beginning the process. Downloading and printing a copy of this worksheet will also be helpful as a guide for what information you need to collect prior to logging into the system to input your congregation’s data. Filling out the
worksheet in advance will speed the process of actual data input on the website.

To find the worksheet, go to the OGA Denominational Rolls and Statistics page, and either click on the link for the question “Where can I find a copy of the workbook?” or scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find this question answered with links to the worksheet in three languages.

Once you are ready to enter data, click on the “Go to the Online Statistical Entry system” link on the OGA Denominational Rolls and Statistics page. You will need your church’s username (Church PIN number) and the church’s password. PINs and passwords have not changed since last year. If you cannot find your church’s PIN and/or password, please contact Dagmar Romage in the presbytery office by phone at (614) 847-0565 or by email at dagmar@psvonline.org.

After entering your username and password, you will be taken to the screen with your church’s contact information. If you need to make a correction, click “Edit Mailing” or “Edit Physical” in the right task menu. Then click on the “Clerk” tab at the top to verify the clerk of session name and contact information. Editing can be done from the links under “Tasks.”

To enter your statistics for 2023, click on the “Statistics Questions” tab at the top, which will then take you to a page titled “Session Annual Statistical Report for The Year 2023.” You will find four pages listed under the “Tasks” menu on the right side of the page. You do not have to do the pages in order. When you are finished with a page, click the “Accept” button at the bottom of the screen. Should you need to change an entry after clicking “Accept,” you can reselect that task and edit it.

The data is not locked in until you click the “Submit Stats” link in the “Tasks” menu on the right of the screen. The completed General Assembly report is to be approved by your Session (not the congregation) and submitted by 5:00 PM, Thursday, February 15, 2024.

If you have questions about using the system, please reach out to me by email at
statedclerk@psvonline.org and I will try to help or connect you to someone who can. You can also reach out to the Office of General Assembly directly via email at OGARecords@pcusa.org.

If you do not have access to a computer, please contact Dagmar Romage in the presbytery office and someone will help you to get your statistics reported.

Thank you very much for your help in providing this information. You are one of the more than 10,000 session clerks around the denomination faithfully maintaining rolls and records which reflect the vastness of the mission and ministry of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). On behalf of Rev. Bronwen Boswell, Acting Stated Clerk of the General Assembly, and her staff, I give thanks to God for your work and witness.

Grace and Peace to you and yours.
